The BSSA’s Intermediate and Novice breeders compete against each other in the BSSA Murphy Classic for 2024. To that end, this is the BSSA’s first show of the year, held in April at Westbourne Park Memorial Hall. The BSSA Murphy Classic 2024 Results are contained herein. A total of 214 birds are entered for this show, representing 4 Intermediate and 12 Novice breeders. Andrew Swift wins the Champion Novice Young Bird with a Black Eyed Self over Danny Brill’s Spangle AOSV. Meanwhile, Kevin Back secures the Champion Novice Old Bird with a Cinnamon wing over Trevor Goodenough’s Normal Blue. Ian and Gina Wise take home the Champion and Reserve Champion Intermediate Old Bird titles. Furthermore, Ian & Gina claim the Champion Intermediate Young Bird, with Michael Smith earning the Reserve Champion Young Bird.

Kudos are also in order for Wayne Weidenhofer on his inaugural Major Award Judging appointment here in South Australia. His successful tenure was supported by the capable assistance of Ken Harris, George England, Troy Holmes, and Ian Wise. The BSSA extend their gratitude to the Stewards and club members who contributed their time and effort to set up and clean up the Hall.
