2024 Exhibitor Points
The Budgerigar Council of South Australia (BCSA) has released the Exhibitor Points for 2024, summarizing the achievements of breeders over the past three years. These points determine status movements within the council, effective January 1, 2025.
Status Movements Due to Points:
- Promotion to Intermediate:
- Danny Brill has earned 20 points over three years.
- Promotion to Open:
- Ian & Gina Wise has achieved 35 points over three years.
- Champion Status for 2025:
- The Holmes Family has accumulated a total of 710 points over three years, and 255 points in 2024 (85 required to become a Champion for the following year).

Summary
Congratulations to the Holmes Family on achieving Champion Status for the 2025 showing season. This significant milestone reflects their dedication and outstanding contributions to the budgerigar community.
We also extend our congratulations to Danny Brill and Ian & Gina Wise for their well-deserved promotions. Danny Brill has been promoted to Intermediate, and Ian & Gina Wise have moved up to the Open category for the 2025 showing season. These advancements highlight their hard work and success in the competitive budgerigar scene.
Unfortunately, no points were able to be awarded to Intermediate and Novice winners in five shows during 2024 due to insufficient exhibitors and/or birds benched in these sections. The affected shows included:
- Port Pirie Breeders Show – only one Novice exhibitor participated.
- Port Pirie Annual Show – only two Novice exhibitors participated.
- BSSA Ron Norman Annual Show – only two Intermediate exhibitors participated.
- Tri Club Shield – despite 4 Intermediate Exhibitors, only 17 birds were benched in the Intermediate section.
- BSSA/NEBS Interclub 24 – only two Intermediate exhibitors participated.
While these circumstances are regrettable, the efforts of all exhibitors are still commendable, and we look forward to increased participation in future shows.
