Show Details:

This will be an Open Show – Any Financial Member of either Pt Pirie or any other Bird Society may participate. The event will be conducted under the show rules of the Port Pirie Budgerigar Society of South Australia Inc.

PPBS Hutchinson Annual Show 2025 Major Awards:

We are excited to announce that the Major Awards will be adjudicated by Ray Slade from Victoria, a recently approved ANBC Judge.

BCSA Status Movement Show:

This will also be a BCSA Status Movement Show if there are sufficient entries.

Show Schedule:

  • Birds to be Benched: 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM

  • Judging Commences: 10:00 AM Sharp

  • Birds Not to be Removed Before: 3:00 PM or at the Show Manager’s Direction

    Entry Fees:

    • $1.00 per entry (up to 20 entries).

    • Entries over 20 are free.
      Entry fees to be paid on the day to the Show Manager.

Show Rules and Guidelines:

  • The Safety Officer / Show Manager reserves the right to reject any entry prior to judging if the birds show signs of illness, deformity, or poorly prepared cages deemed hazardous to their health.

  • Cage Requirements:
    All birds must be shown in standard cages approved by the Pt. Pirie Budgerigar Society of SA and configured as required by the BCSA Show Rules.

  • Seed Limitations:
    Only equal parts of Canary, Jap Millet, and White Millet are permitted. The seed quantity is limited to one kitchen measuring cup per bird.

Refreshments:

  • Morning Tea / Coffee: Provided by the club.

  • Takeaway Lunch: Can be arranged through the local hotel.

Member Assistance:

All members are asked to stay and help with packing up and cleaning the hall after the show.
