BSSA Pet Bird Auction 6 2025
BSSA Pet Bird Auction 6 for 2025 is now underway and runs from 22 to 30 April.
This exciting auction features 20 birds, all bred by Simon Dale and Jason Wildback in Melbourne. Most birds on offer are various types of crests – including crest bred, tufted, and full circular crests.

These birds come from a Springvale-based pet breeder who approached BSSA to participate in our online auctions.
Notably, many birds trace back to the bloodlines of Christine Sabateen from South Australia. Christine bred for over a decade and was renowned for Frillbacks, Texas Clearbodies, White Caps, Dilutes, and stunning crests.
As a result, most birds in this auction are crest bred, with many displaying tufts or frillback traits.
For 18 months, Simon bred with Christine’s lines before stepping back due to ill health. To that end, Simon entrusted his lines to Jason Wildback, who brings a wealth of experience.
Together, the pair later introduced Steven Bradley’s show-quality lines. Steven is highly regarded for his exceptional crests.
By combining these lines, we have successfully increased bird size and crest quality – exactly as we hoped.
Now, we’re offering younger birds for others to enjoy.
Pick-up is available from Springvale or Melton in Victoria.
