MBC Budgie Auction 2024 Terms & Conditions
First and foremost, you must register before entering the auction room and will receive a bidder number. You need this number to purchase any lots at the auction and must show it to the auctioneer after the fall of the hammer.
Couple of Notes:
- Firstly, do not bring judging sticks or carry cages into the auction room. Do not interfere with the birds or subject them to sticks, pens, or similar objects.
- Secondly, smoking is obviously prohibited in any part of the building.
- Finally, place seed at the bottom of the cage.
We submit all lots in the order they appear in the catalogue. If necessary, the vendor may make any alterations, additions, or deletions to this order. You can inspect all lots prior to the commencement of the sale, and they are sold with all faults, if any. Therefore, we will not offer compensation for any faults, imperfections, or errors in the description of any lots sold. Upon the fall of the hammer, each lot is at your risk.
The highest bidder will be the purchaser, subject to the vendor’s right to bid. In the event of any dispute, we will put the lot in dispute up again, and the auctioneer’s decision will be final. The auctioneer reserves the right to accept or refuse any bid without stating the reason. After the fall of the hammer, no party may retract their bid.
Payment Terms:
Non-members pay in cash on the day unless they make prior arrangements. Interstate bidders can be accommodated for – wire transfers can be arranged.
Members can pay in cash, and we accept personal cheques with identification by a current Membership Card or a Committee Person.
Successful purchasers must take their purchases with them at the completion of the auction. If any successful bidder fails to pay for their purchases on the day, the vendor or their agents will resell the lot as they see fit.
You cannot collect purchases before the auction concludes. To that end, upon payment you must obtain a receipt from the cashier. Then, proceed to the allocated collection point with your own carry cage and evidence of purchase. The purchaser is responsible for moving the bird(s) from the sale cage to their own cage. Neither the vendor, their agents, the auctioneer, nor any staff will handle the birds.
Lastly, the greater of $5 or 10% of the Vendor’s sale proceeds are donated to the MBC of WA (Inc).
