Auction Terms & Conditions

  1. The auction adheres to The Budgerigar Council of Victoria Inc. Code of Practice for Budgerigar Sales and Auctions.
  2. To that end, a 2% Buyers Premium applies to all bird lots purchased.
  3. Moreover, the sale is unreserved for birds listed in the catalogue.
  4. Lots will be auctioned in the order they appear in the catalogue.
  5. The Auctioneer reserves the right to accept or refuse any bid without explanation.
  6. No smoking inside the auction hall.
  7. Carry cages are not allowed into the main body of the auction hall until the auction concludes.
  8. United Budgerigar Society acts as an agent only and is not responsible for faults or defects in any lot.
  9. Intending purchasers must satisfy themselves regarding the sex, colour, variety, origin, age, genuineness, provenance, and condition of any lot.
  10. All bidders must register before the auction starts.
  11. Phone bidders must fill out a registration form with contact and payment details.
  12. Each registered bidder will receive a bidder’s number, required for purchasing lots.
  13. Each lot will be sold to the highest bidder.
  14. After the hammer falls, no bid retraction is allowed. In case of disputes, the auctioneer’s decision is final.
  15. Purchasers bear the risk and expense of their lots after the hammer falls.
  16. Any passed-in bird will be re-auctioned after all other lots are completed.
  17. Payment is due at the auction’s conclusion. Preferred payment methods are CASH, CARD, or EFT.
  18. Proof of payment is required before purchases are dispersed.
  19. Successful purchasers must collect their purchases at the auction’s end.
  20. Show cages are not included in the purchase price.
  21. Finally, the United Budgerigar Society will pay vendors by cash or club cheque at the auction’s end.
