This will be an ‘OPEN SHOW.’ Any member in good standing with BSSA or any other Bird Society is welcome to participate. This is a status movement show, and all birds need to be spotted for this event.

Entry Details:

  • Deadline: All entries close with the Show Manager, George England (0418 819 705) on or before Monday, July 1, 2024.

  • Entry Fee: $1.00 per bird for the first 20 entered. Payment is due on show day.

Additional Information:

  • Cage Stickers: Distributed at the BSSA monthly meeting on July 2. If not attending, they will be available on the morning of the show.
  • Compensation: Exhibitors with 15 birds or more, traveling 50 km or more to the venue, will receive $25.00.
  • Bird Benching: From 8:30 a.m. Judging starts at 9:30 a.m.
  • Cage Requirements: Standard ANBC-approved show cages, except for classes 61 & 62. Chrome or powder-coated cages accepted. Each cage must have a white D drinker (dry) and white paper or plastic insert on the floor.

Important Notices:

  • Hot Weather Policy: If the temperature forecast is 32°C or above the night before (Channel 7, 6:00 p.m. news), the show will be canceled. Exhibitors must check the forecast.
  • Bird Removal: Birds may not be removed before the trophy presentation at 2:00 p.m.
  • Lunch Provided.

About Ron Norman

Ron Norman was a long-serving member of the BSSA, holding many positions including Club President and Trading Officer. He was a Major Award judge, an ANBC delegate, and a dedicated mentor to new members. Known for his distinctive suit jacket, Ron was a prominent figure in the SA bird community and a staunch West Torrens supporter. He was also a keen racehorse follower, often found with racing tickets in his pockets. His commitment to the hobby and the community is a lasting legacy.
