Tri-Club Cup Interclub Challenge – October 25, 2025
Join us for the BCSA Tri-Club Cup Interclub Challenge on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at the Campbelltown Council Function Centre, located at 172 Montacute Road, Rostrevor, SA 5073. This exciting event will also feature Budgie Fest 2025, and will incorporate the BSSA Vs NEBS Interclub Challenge. The show will adhere to the guidelines set by the BCSA, with exhibition entries following the ANBC Standard and Matrix.
For this challenge, only cages with powder-coated fronts are allowed, except in the pet bird section, where any cage is acceptable. If you don’t have powder-coated show cages, please contact your club or the BCSA for assistance in borrowing some to avoid limitations on your entries.
Important Entry Details:
- Entry Fee: $1.00 per bird, with a $20.00 maximum cap for multiple entries.
- Juniors are exempt from entry fees for both the challenge and the pet show.
Entry Deadline: Entries are submitted by Friday, October 17th, 2025 at 7:00 PM. Late entries are not accepted. Importantly, to ensure your entries are processed, please submit them promptly, considering potential postal delays of up to five working days.
Submission Options:
- Firstly, entries can be submitted via email (preferred) – president@bcsa.com.au.
- Alternatively, for postal entries, please send them to The President, 6 East Terrace Kensington Gardens, SA 5068
- Finally, payments will be due on the day of the event, either by cash or electronic transfer.
Bird Bench Times:
- Birds: 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM for benching.
- Judging Starts: 9:00 AM sharp.
Additional Information: If you haven’t received your cage stickers by Friday, October 24th, 2025, please contact the President, Troy Holmes at 0419 526 753 by Friday evening to arrange for printing of duplicate stickers.
Show Requirements:
- Birds must be shown in clean, standard show cages with a recognised budgerigar breeders’ mix. The seed should be limited to approximately one kitchen measuring cup.
- Each cage must have an approved plastic drinker positioned four spaces in from the left, level with the perch. Stickers must be placed on the bottom left-hand side of the cage.
- Only 2025 ANBC Approved Black Rung birds are eligible to be entered.
Health and Safety:
- The Safety Officer may reject birds with illness or deformity, or poorly prepared cages that are deemed hazardous to the birds.
- Birds are exhibited at the owner’s risk, though the Show Committee will take due care.
Awards and Trophies:
- Tri Club Cup is awarded to the society with the most points across the classes.
- Major Individual/Partnership Awards include trophies for Best in Show, Best Open, Best Intermediate, Best Novice, and Best Junior birds, as well as Best of Variety for each of the 28 Exhibition classes.

Points for Interclub Challenge:
Place cards are allocated for 1st place only, while points are awarded from 1st to 9th place in each class. 1 to 9 has been selected, in line with the old regime of 3 birds per Club, and 3 Clubs total.
Reminder: The Hot Weather Policy will be in effect—if the predicted temperature exceeds 32°C (as forecasted between 6:00 PM and 7:00 PM the day before), the Show component of the event will be cancelled.
