Wayne Cachia (WC2) is a Champion budgerigar breeder based in Werribee, Victoria. He has an extensive record of success at both Victorian and Australian National level.

Wayne has won one Australian National title, 18 Victorian State Show classes, three Diplomas and three UBC Diplomas. In addition, a number of birds from the Cachia aviary have also represented Victoria at the Australian National Budgerigar Championship.

His leading National results include:

  • 1st – Clearbody
  • 2nd – Spangle Normal
  • 2nd – Albino on two occasions
  • 3rd – Fallow
  • 3rd – Lutino
  • 4th – Albino

That record gives buyers the opportunity to acquire birds from an aviary that has consistently produced budgerigars. These birds are capable of competing successfully at the highest levels of the hobby.

Making Room for the 2026 Young Birds

The Wayne Cachia 2026 Final Sale is being held primarily to reduce bird numbers. It will also create additional space for Wayne’s 2026 young bird team. Wayne currently has more birds flying than required and has selected a group of excess birds to move on to other breeders. As this is his final cull for 2026, it represents the last planned opportunity this year to purchase birds directly from this group of surplus Cachia stock.

For breeders working with varieties such as Clearbodies, Inos, Cinnamonwings, Dominant Pieds and Lacewings, the auction also provides the opportunity to introduce different bloodlines and potentially useful breeding combinations into their own studs.
