The BSSA Pet Bird Auction 8 2026 is now live. It features a fantastic selection of 20 young budgerigars with a strong focus on crested budgerigars, Frillbacks and specialist coloured varieties.
The auction commenced on Sunday, 9 August 2026 at 8:00 PM ACST. It will conclude on Sunday, 16 August 2026 at 7:00 PM ACST, with extended bidding applying.

About the BSSA Pet Bird Auction
The majority of the birds trace their bloodlines back to renowned South Australian breeder Christine Sabateen. To that end, this is a great opportunity for pet bird enthusiasts, coloured budgerigar breeders and those interested in specialist varieties. You can introduce some interesting genetics into your breeding programs.
Pickup is available from Springvale or Melton, Victoria.

The Budgerigar Society of South Australia (BSSA) would love to see more pet and coloured budgerigar enthusiasts become involved with clubs throughout Australia. Club meetings, guest speakers and experienced breeders provide practical knowledge that can benefit everyone, from dedicated exhibition breeders to those simply enjoying budgerigars as a hobby.
