| Welcome to this week’s edition of the Budgie Bulletin! |

A rather quiet week by BCSA standards, with just two committee meetings happening in the background. The North East came together on Tuesday night, to refine the details for their Christmas party. The event is set to be a fantastic celebration of the year that has been, with the Club paying for members meals, and providing Kris Kringle gifts. President Con Orfanos is hoping for a great showing from the membership cohort. Partners are encouraged to attend but will need to purchase their meals separately.
The BCSA also met for its quarterly meeting. The meeting requires 8 of the 12 delegates present, and with only 7 available, the meeting had to be postponed until next week. On a positive note, the team were able to spend some time going over the finer points of some of the motions that will be presented next week, as well as the interim pictorial request that is being issued through Peter Glassenbury as our State’s Colours & Standards Representative. For those who aren’t aware, there has been some discussion at the ANBC level about the new pictorial Standard, and South Australia has come up with a suggestion to quell any concerns about the exhibition budgerigar’s ability to see (given that budgerigars have monocular vision). Peter will be driving this through Colours and Standards, in the hope of including it in the Standard, until such a time as the new pictorial becomes available.
When the BCSA delegates do come together next week, some of the other topics for discussion include whether we should hold an event in April to mark 30 years of the Budgerigar Council of South Australia. The team will also need to set a date for 2026 Judges Meeting, which will likely be 2nd Sunday in April for 2026 to avoid a clash with Easter. We also need to confirm bird carers for the Southport Nationals in South Queensland next May, and review the Golden Faced Motions as circulated by John Mulley.
In the week ahead, we have the Port Pirie Christmas Party in Port Broughton. This promises to be a great day out, with the weather forecast being a perfect, sunny 27 degrees. It’s not too late to RSVP for what always promises to be a great day out at the Port Broughton Hotel.
The week ahead will also see the BSSA come together for their postponed committee meeting, and the BCSA delegates come together with the required numbers for a quorum. |

NEBS 2nd Mega Auction November 2025🦜
Closing Date: November 23rd 2025
Lots Available: 47 birds and 2 membership optionsNEBS said they wouldn’t, but they did. According to Club President Con Orfanos, given members can’t exchange birds at the Hotel Windsor at their next meeting, and the chance to move some more of Cedric’s birds as part of the dispersal sale was just too good of an opportunity to pass up. So, you read it right, there is a SECOND NEBS Mega Event for November. Featuring birds from Cedric D’Costa’s sell out, as well as a sprinkling of Holmes Family birds and a couple from Beau Schutz, just to make sure our numbers are MEGA. This time, Cedric’s birds will be sent from Queensland. NEBS Mega Auction 2 for November 2025 is your chance to secure quality exhibition budgerigars from respected breeders while supporting NEBS. Budgerigar varieties on offer Clearwing, Fallow, Greywing, Normals, Spangles, Spangle AOSV’s, and Spangle Double Factors. |
