Elmir Family Auction May 2026
Elmir Family May 2026 Auction Now Live
The Elmir Family May 2026 Auction is now live, featuring 20 budgerigars from the Elmir Family stud in Victoria. This auction is the first of three planned auctions. It follows a major decision to reduce bird numbers and focus the breeding room moving forward. One of the upcoming auctions will be dedicated specifically to Crested birds. Therefore, this is an important opportunity for fanciers to secure birds from a family-based stud that is now concentrating its future direction.
The auction will conclude on May 29th at 8:00 pm AEST. Buyers are encouraged to read each lot description carefully before bidding. They should also make sure they have considered freight, transport and payment arrangements prior to placing a bid.
Background of the Elmir Family Birds
Elmir has been breeding budgerigars on and off for the past 12 years. During that time, he has sold out twice for different reasons. However, since returning to the hobby four years ago, he has rebuilt his stud with strong and proven bloodlines. These include birds connected to Gary Gazzard, Alan Kent, Peter Thurn, Wayne Weidenhofer and pure Garry Watson lines. These lines have bred magnificently since being introduced back into the breeding room.
The background of the birds also includes bloodlines from Ian Hunter, Charles Mifsud, Armen Arslanian for Spangles, and Ray Slade. With a strong number of Cinnamonwings and Spangles in particular, Elmir has selected a range of birds for this auction. This is part of a major cull for concentration purposes.
Varieties Available in the Elmir Family May 2026 Auction
The Elmir Family Auction features a range of popular exhibition budgerigar varieties, including Normal Yellow Faced, Cinnamonwing, Dominant Pied, Spangle, Spangle Double Factor, Normal Grey, Normal Blue and more. With 20 birds available, this auction offers fanciers the chance to access useful breeding birds from a stud. This stud is significantly reducing numbers.
Elmir is cutting down from approximately 200 birds to around 60 normal varieties and 20 Crested birds. This means there will be about 80 birds in the bird room plus young birds. This reduction is mainly due to work commitments and the growing demands of family life.
Payment, Freight and Transport
The winning bidder must pay for their successful bid within 24 hours of the auction ending. All birds are located in Victoria, and freight or transport is the responsibility of the buyer. Please make sure arrangements are suitable before bidding.
Please note that Elmir does not have transport or freight boxes available, so buyers must arrange these directly through their chosen freight provider.
