The Matt Troy Mid Year Reduction Sale 2026 is now underway. To that end, it offers budgerigar breeders across Australia the opportunity to secure quality birds from a proven and highly competitive Western Sydney breeding program. The auction commenced on Monday, 10 August 2026 at 9:30 PM AEST and will conclude on Monday, 17 August 2026 at 8:00 PM AEST. Extended bidding will be available where required.
Birds Looking for New Postcodes
Following a very successful breeding season that carried through into 2026, Matt Troy is reducing numbers to make room for this year’s youngsters. In addition, the sale features a selection of healthy, well-cared-for budgerigars from a successful breeding program. This provides an excellent opportunity for breeders looking to strengthen their aviaries with quality bloodlines.
Varieties available throughout the Matt Troy Mid Year Reduction Sale 2026 include Yellow Faced Blues, Cinnamonwings, Normal Blues, Texas Clearbodies, Opaline Cinnamonwings, White Caps, Lutinos and more.
About Matt Troy
Matt Troy is an Open breeder based in Western Sydney, New South Wales. To that end, his stud has established an impressive record on the exhibition bench. Moreover, birds from the stud have been selected to represent New South Wales at the ANBC National Championships. This demonstrates the quality and consistency of Matt’s breeding program.
Matt’s National Championship results include 1st in AOSV Spangle, 5th and 6th in Clearbody, 11th in Albino, 12th in Fallow and 18th in Cinnamon.
The main varieties within the stud include Cinnamon, Opaline, Spangle, Texas Clearbody and Fallow. The foundation of the stud has been built primarily around the established bloodlines of James Matthews and Gary Gazzard. This has helped Matt produce birds that perform consistently in both the breeding cage and on the show bench.
Pickup and Freight Information
Pickup is available from Silverdale NSW 2752. Freight can also be arranged to most major Australian airports. However, all freight and associated costs are the responsibility of the purchaser.
- Transport boxes are available for $25 each.
- Delivery to Sydney Airport can be arranged on weekends only.
- Buyers are welcome to use their preferred bird freight or transport company.

Please do not bid unless you are able to pay for, collect, or arrange collection of your birds within the required timeframe.
