BSSA Auction 25 – September 2025

The Budgerigar Society of South Australia (BSSA) is proud to present Auction 25 for 2025, showcasing eight quality birds in total. To that end, five are from Dave Miller, one from George England, and two from Chris Murphy. This auction begins on Tuesday, 9 September and concludes on Sunday, 14 September, giving fanciers the opportunity to secure outstanding exhibition birds while supporting the work of the BSSA.

Birds Available at Auction

This auction features a carefully selected lineup of eight birds, each bred by respected breeders within the hobby. Moreover, varieties on offer include:

• Firstly, a Cobalt Hen and Normal Sky Cock
• Craig Barnett bred Normal Dark Green Cock
• Dominant Pied Sky Blue Hen
• Lacewing Hen & Split Lacewing Cock
• Holmes Family bred Spangle Opaline Sky Cock
• Finally, a Opaline Cinnamonwing Hen

These varieties represent a strong mix of colour and style, perfect for breeders looking to expand or improve their stud.

Auction Details and Buyer Information

The birds are offered for sale on behalf of BSSA members. All descriptions come in good faith from the seller, and while every effort is made to ensure accuracy, BSSA Inc does not accept responsibility for inaccuracies. Any concerns go directly to the seller. Bids remain anonymous, and only bidder numbers show throughout the auction. Buyers need to note the location of the birds, as freight and freight costs are the responsibility of the purchaser. To assist with smooth communication, bidders register a phone number. Vendors will, in most cases, transport birds to the airport at no cost, and may also combine shipments with other vendors to reduce freight costs for buyers.

Founded on 20 May 1948, the Budgerigar Society of South Australia is the state’s first budgerigar society and a proud foundation member of the Australian National Budgerigar Council (ANBC). The BSSA is a not-for-profit organisation, with all proceeds from auctions going towards promoting the club and supporting the hobby in a modern and progressive way.
