BCSA Budgie Bulletin: Weekly Wrap & Look Ahead

Welcome to this week’s edition of the Budgie Bulletin!

After a particularly busy period featuring the Ron Norman Any Age Show, Neale Love’s presentation, and the NEBS Christmas in July celebration, it has been a much quieter week by comparison for South Australian budgerigar clubs. The only formal activity on the local calendar was the NEBS committee meeting, giving members a welcome opportunity to catch their breath before the next round of events gets underway.

Interstate, the Bendigo Budgerigar Club continued the auction season by holding its latest auction, providing fanciers with another opportunity to secure quality birds and support the broader budgerigar community.

Closer to home, this weekend the Barossa Bird Club will host its Annual Bird Expo in Tanunda. The event will run from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm on Sunday, July 19, at the Tanunda Show Hall on Elizabeth Street.

Visitors can browse a range of aviculture supplies and local crafts while enjoying food and refreshments throughout the day. The ever-popular monster raffle will also return, offering plenty of prizes and adding to what is always an enjoyable community event.

For anyone looking for a good reason to head out on Sunday, the Barossa Bird Club Annual Bird Expo promises a relaxed and entertaining afternoon for bird enthusiasts, families, and members of the wider community.

Interstate, the ever-popular Melton Auction will take place tomorrow, followed by a post-auction dinner. The event has long been a favourite among the South Australian budgerigar fraternity, with many members making the trip not only for the opportunity to purchase quality birds, but also for the friendship, camaraderie, and social atmosphere that have become such an important part of the occasion. The event will be live streamed, with details available on the Melton Budgerigar Auction page on Facebook.

Check out the collaboration between our partners Hentley Farm, and Budgie Fest’s own artist, Dr. Daniel Connell!
